Local Attractions

Damb'ri waterfall is a great day out. It is quite commercial but very well done. The waterfalls themselves are stunning and make a great walk, but there are also a few funfair type rides of quite good quality.

Probably best however is the abundance of parkland for picnicking in the shade. Restaurants and snack bars are also available.

Swimming in the Lake. The map shows slightly wrong directions. You will see a path left into the trees immediately at the end of the dam. Our favourite spot is at the fallen tree in the photo. You can walk or ride there: www.plotaroute.com/route/1265536

It's a beautiful 30 minute (or longer by using one of our ride links) drive to get to this beauty spot that only locals know about. As the track peters out at the river you will see the base of the cascades. Here you can paddle or swim in the shade. Our favourite, however, is to boulder-hop up the cascades. The higher you go the more peaceful it is. In some spots you will find small sandy beaches.

Click on the map link to find google directions to our favourite pine forest picnic spot. The kids can spend all day here den-building and playing hide and seek. It is also a great spot for long shady pine forest walks or runs - there are tracks all over the forest. There is no one particular spot - just make the pine forest your own .....

The 'other' Damb'ri waterfall tourists just don't get to - it is only really possible on two wheels. Then you have to hike from the track. As a day out though it is stunning, as the falls feed the amazing Lake Damb'ri, already a very beautiful sight with a clean, fast flowing river and gorgeous countryside. Go prepared - there is no food or water available. See the https://www.coffeefarmhomestay.com/ride-and-walk entry for Damb'ri falls and the 'Lake District' for a description and options for routes.
